ABOUT BHEJANE GAME RESERVE

Bhejane Game Reserve is nestled away in the picturesque Groot River Valley, just halfway between Steytlerville and Willowmore, on the western side of the Eastern Cape. Located just north of South Africa’s best-kept nature secret, the Baviaanskloof, lies Bhejane, offering visitors an experience of a lifetime, with real bushveld atmosphere in the heart of the Karoo.

HUNTING AT BHEJANE GAME RESERVE

Bhejane lies in the far western extreme of the Eastern Cape of South Africa and offers hunters and nature lovers a unique and rewarding experience. Spectacular and picturesque mountains border a lush valley with the perennial Groot River running for miles through the middle of the game reserve.

The diversified terrain of the reserve is home to 26 hoofed game species as well as a host of other smaller animals and birds making this a bird watchers haven. Bhejane hunting reserve offers an abundance of superb trophies. Hunting is conducted in the traditional “walk and stalk” method and hunters should be reasonably fit as the terrain provides for a very challenging hunt.

Bhejane Game Reserve is home to a wide variety of birds and a stay at Bhejane will ensure that the avid Birdwatcher will find at least a hundred different species of birds. From the majestic Fish Eagle to the magnificent Malachite Kingfisher, all of which have made Bhejane their home.

HOW TO LOCATE BHEJANE GAME RESERVE

Travelling from Willowmore – Drive north out of town on the N9 highway, take the Steytlerville/PE turnoff just outside of Willowmore. Travel for 30 km on the concrete road, then turn left at the Klipplaat turn-off and travel for 10 km. Turn right and follow the road until you reach Bhejane Game Reserve.

Travelling from Port Elizabeth – Travel to Steytlerville and from there take the Willowmore road and travel for 31 km, then turn right and follow the road for 22 km until you reach the Bhejane Game Reserve reception where adventure awaits you.
