INTRODUCTION TO ON TARGET PROFESSIONAL FIREARMS TRAINING & SHOOTING RANGE
On Target is an accredited and approved shooting range located just outside George in the Western Cape, only 7km from George Airport en-route to the beautiful Herold’s Bay beach. The On Target shooting range offers some of the most scenic vistas in the countryside with views over the ocean as a backdrop to the 300m rifle range, pistol, shotgun and carbine bays. The Clay Pigeon Shooting Range overlooks natural fynbos and trees and the “valley of gongs”, an unknown distance range with 15 gongs ranging from 180m to 600m, scattered through a pristine valley, will test your marksmanship and shooting skills. A “Tac House” or tactical training range will be added soon to cater for security-related training and the advanced shooters.

The On Target Shooting Range accommodates club shoots and hosts competitions for dedicated and affiliated sports and competition shooters as well as hunters, many security-related companies and law enforcement authorities. Maintaining a high standard and consistently improving its facilities through growth is very important to the management as well as offering quality training through its new academy – On Target Firearms Training Academy. The academy will offer required unit standards that align with international training standards as set out by the Professional Firearms Training Council (PFTC), the governing authority in South Africa. Its registered and accredited staff uphold the core values of Ethics, Quality and Pride.

On Target Firearms Training Academy produce competent and responsible firearm users with core ethics that enables them to take what they have learned and add to their “tool-box” of skills. On Target Professional Firearms Training Academy offer basic to advanced level training by qualified, registered and experienced instructors and trainers as well as additional training or assessment and workshops for anyone wanting to improve their discipline and skill in firearm handling and use.
